How does connecting my Tesla work?

Tesla handles the secure sign-in, so Family Drive Alerts never sees your Tesla password. The app keeps the connection current when Tesla allows. No hardware, nothing installed in the car, and you can disconnect anytime.

Do I need Tesla navigation on to see the destination?

Yes — destination and ETA come from active Tesla navigation. Leave/arrive and trusted-place alerts work regardless.

Is this spying on my driver?

No. It surfaces a few meaningful moments, not constant location. We recommend being open with whoever drives your car — that's how it's meant to be used.

Which Teslas are supported?

Most modern Tesla vehicles with connectivity. We'll confirm your specific car during setup.

Is Family Drive Alerts made by Tesla?

No. We're an independent app that works with your Tesla. We're not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Tesla, Inc.

What happens if my Tesla connection needs attention?

If Tesla invalidates or expires the connection, the app shows that status and prompts you to sign in again. Your alerts resume after the connection is restored.

How is my drive data handled?

Exact vehicle locations, navigation destinations, and saved Places are encrypted at rest. We don't sell personal data, and the app does not provide a live tracking map. Read the full Privacy Policy.
